First Friday!!

Good morning! As the third day of school begins, Chandlers is proud to report that it has amazing students thus far. Everyone seems to be settling in and adapting to the new BEARS expectations. Classrooms have been active with student engagement.

The Positive Behavior Supports system now in place at Chandlers provides a platform for teachers, staff, and students to focus on productive behaviors and most importantly celebrate the types of behaviors that model good citizenship, and we plan to do a lot of celebrating this year for academic, athletic, and behavioral accomplishments.

The discipline system involves a rather simple method:
1st Teacher Warning
2nd Minor Referral and Parent Contact (referral kept by teacher)
3rd 3 Minor Referrals = a Major Referral to a Principal

*Every 4 1/2 weeks minor referrals start over for students.
*All serious infractions are immediately reported to a principal.

Naturally, the doors of Chandler's School are always open so please feel free to visit any time. Also, be sure to come experience the newest addition: Morning Meeting, everyday in the gym, from 7:30-7:40!

Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend!

The 2009-2010 School Year Underway

As the cars rolled in and buses pulled up to Chandler's, over four-hundred faces entered the building anxious to begin the new school year. Kindergarten parents were treated to a Boo-hoo/Yahoo Breakfast to celebrate the transition, while the remaining students slipped into a relaxed first day by dismissing at one.

In order to serve the students of Chandler's School better, a Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) system will be in place and strive to bring consistency, rewards, and recognition throughout the building. The school's motto will be displayed as follows:

Be responsible

Engage in learning

Achieve academic excellence

Respect everyone

Stay safe

More information will be forthcoming in later posts.

Thanks to all students and staff for such a great first day!!
